Trap Card - Continuous

You can only activate this card during a Main Phase. After activation, this card is treated as a Normal Monster Card (Reptile-Type/EARTH/Level 4/ATK 1600/DEF 1800), and is Special Summoned to your Monster Card Zone. (This card is also still treated as a Trap Card.)

Basic Summary

During a mainphase, you can activate this trap card and it summons a monster to your side of the field. The monster is a level 4 earth-reptile with 1600/1800. You can summon the monster in face-up attack or defense. "This card is still treated as a trap card" means that it still occupies a Spell/Trap Zone while it is a monster.

The Good

This card has all the benefits of Statue of the Wicked but can be activated anytime during a main phase. (Statue of wicked has to be destroyed while Face-down.) This card will increase the number of single-tribute monsters in a deck dramatically. Activate it, tribute it for your favorite level 5 or 6. Even if you do not tribute it, 1600 atk is not all that bad. It beats a Don Zaloog, warrior lady, mataza, it matches tribe and counter-less breaker. The monster's 1800 DEF is not bad either, it can prevent a lot of level 4's from getting through. It could easily be combined with cards like Horn of Heaven, Different Dimension Gate, DD TrapHole etc.

The Bad

Trap Cards are slow in game progression. Being a trap card makes it vulnrable to Jinzo, Royal Decree, and other trap negating effects. Also the major disadvantage is that it occupies a Spell/Trap Zone AND a Monster Zone at the same time. Making it vulnrable to not just monster removal, but Spell/Trap Removal as well. Active or not, Heavy Storm will destroy it. Another major disadvantage to the card occupying both is in the rise of popularity of Tsukuyomi. If she is summoned, she CAN target Embodiment of Apophis and flip the card FaceDown. Why? Becuase it returns it to a Face Down trap, and the monster is removed from the field. If the card is priorly activated and a Trap negator is activated, the card returns to a useless Face Up Trap card, with no monster present and will NOT re-summon the monster when the trap negator is no longer present.

Side Notes

 - This card was originally released as a promo for attending the Cybernetic Revolution Sneak Preview, it is now in Issue # 35 (Nov 05) of Shonen Jump Magazine. It is rumored to be one of the promos in Dark Revelations 3, which is unconfirmed.
 - This card is NOT a monster card, you cannot monster reborn Embodiment of Apophis. You cannot monster re-incarnate Embodiment of Apophis to your hand. It will not trigger effects like Last Will.
 - Upon activation, your opponent CAN Bottomless Trap Hole the monster, and remove the trap card from play.
 - You CAN activate Embodiment of Apophis on your opponent's Main Phase.
 - You cannot give an Embodiment of Apophis to your opponent on Creature Swap if your opponent does not have a vacant Spell/Trap Zone.
 - In negation of your opponent targeting an active Embodiment of Apophis, the cards must be in agreement. i.e. Fake trap cannot be activated to a monster destruction card, Riryoku Field cannot be used to a Spell/Trap destruction card.
 - The monster can be flipped Face-Down. It is returned to FaceDown Trap card, and must set for a turn before activation.
 - Chain Destruction WILL destroy all other copies of Embodiment of Apophis in the hand and deck.
 - Embodiment of Apophis occupies both zones at once. Giant Trunade will return the card to the hand (removing the monster from the field).
 - Removing Embodiment of Apophis from the field with cards like Interdimensional Matter Transporter will remove the monster. But when it returns, it is immediatly destroyed.
