May 31, 2007 - Thursday

And so the month of May has come to an end. My accomplishments weren't as good this month except for one thing. I spent alot of time reading the Bible. I used to say that Genesis was my favorite Old Testament book. However, I do believe that Daniel is now my favorite, with Psalms coming in a close 2nd place, moving Genesis to 3rd. Now for the New Testament, well, I've just started, but Matthew is looking good for 1st place. (Previously I said it was Revelation, so that one has slipped to 2nd place now.)

Many of the projects I had lined up to accomplish this month never got done. But no problem, I'll just add them to my growing June list of "to-do's"!!!

May 30, 2007 - Wednesday

Routine day, did some music practice. Otherwise, normal routine housework. I'm trying to catch up laundry and catch up on stuff that had piled up the last few months. Never-ending.

May 29, 2007 - Tuesday

Well, several days in the upper 80's and 90's so we finally gave in and put the AC on! I think we held out longer this year than we have in the past. But it sure feels good now!

Lot's going on, but nothing I feel good about sharing publicly at this time. So if my journals seem shorter than the norm, that is why.

May 28, 2007 - Monday

Honor Memorial Day

Our soldiers, men and women of the Military, those who have fallen, are to be honored today. Through the generations they have sacrificed, paying the ultimate price for the freedoms we have today in this country. Remember all of them. Honor them. Thank them by loving this country. Remember, this is the ONLY country in the WORLD that people break the law to try and enter our gates.

God Bless the USA
God Bless our Military men and women, wherever they are serving!

May 27, 2007 - Sunday

Ran into town for a few items today again. Just small items to fix this or that around the house. In Lowe's I looked at all the flooring and mock kitchens that are set up. I'm not changing anything at our house right now, but it's always fun to look. Jim says I'm looking at stuff for 10 years down the road and he's looking at what can be done to fix something today.... Always the dreamer, I am.

May 26, 2007 - Sabbath

Every Memorial Day weekend, we have a special program at our church honoring the military. This one was wonderful, as they always are. Polly (lady at our church) did a powerpoint of the fallen soldiers of VA in this current war. As it showed all the soldiers photos and their names, ages, and hometowns, I don't believe there was a dry-eye in the church.
May 25, 2007 - Friday

Worked on some cleaning projects and laundry around the house today. Nothing else new. Seth was still in Amarillo, Texas yesterday but today he is back in New Mexico once again.

HALLELUJAH. Rosie's gone from "The View"!!!! I might even start to watch it again. Biggest problem on that program (before Rosie anyway) was the fact that sometimes you can't hear a word that is being said because all the women talk at the same time. Only the ones with the loudest, biggest mouth, get heard through the crush. I'm also very dis-illusioned with Barbara Walters. She was too quick to lie and stick up for Rosie. Anyway, Rosie is gone, she's gone, she's gone. HALLELUJAH.

May 24, 2007 - Thursday

Happy 95th Birthday Pop-Pop Price!

Jim & I surprised his parents by dropping in with lunch stuff and a cake for his Dad today. Later we visited with my parents also. We really had a wonderful day!!!!!

May 23, 2007 - Wednesday

Jim picked up the cake today for Pop-Pop. It turned out really beautiful!

May 22, 2007 - Tuesday

Seth saw a tornado today, filmed it from start to finish and also sent some "stills" of it! I'm sure he will post it on his website, so check it out next week!!!!

May 21, 2007 - Monday

Seth's traveling up through Texas into Oklahoma and probably headed for Kansas. Looks like the activity may be in that area for the next couple of days!

May 20, 2007 - Sunday

Routine Sunday at our house. Not much to report other than Seth has hit the road for his own Storm Chase 2007! Good luck!!!1

Picked up a few items at the store today for later this week.

May 19, 2007 - Sabbath

I'm just tired and exhausted, dragging with the warmer days too.

May 18, 2007 - Friday

Seth's back in New Mexico. Says he's really glad to be back in the good Old USA!!!! All in all, it was quite an experience for him. Check out Seth's Website and click on his "News" section to read all about his adventures. (Give him a few days to get caught up!)

May 17, 2007 - Thursday

Trying to track Seth coming home. Caught the plane over the mid-Pacific late evening. Landed safely in San Francisco. Going to bed now!

May 16, 2007 - Wednesday

Busy week. Hoping all is well with Seth on his adventures in China.

May 15, 2007 - Tuesday

Heard from Seth today. He has moved to another hotel, which was the scheduled plan originally. He said that he is enjoying his visit now that things have smoothed out. What an adventure he has had!

Routine stuff around the house, trying to gain ground on the housework and laundry. Still trying to resolve stuff that happened the last couple days. Don't worry, nothing important. Just part of everyday life that requires some attention. Anyway, making use of the time to get caught up on stuff that has backlogged over the last year from when I broke my ankle last June!

May 14, 2007 - Monday

Somedays it would be better to just stay in bed. I had big plans for some major spring (er-fall) cleaning today. And as sometimes happens, in the process of cleaning I do more damage and cost us more money than if I'd just left things dirty. Details another day........

Seth had a bad day also. Enough that we're afraid his whole trip to China will be soured with the memories. Jim says the good news if you can call it that, is that though he's been in China three days, he's only been robbed on two of them, so far. I'll leave the rest of the story for later.

I tried to call him this morning and actually managed to get the hotel desk, but whether they actually connected me with his room or someone else's, I'll never know. I left a message for him to call me, but I'm only about 1% confident that he'll ever receive the message. But I learned how to make a foreign phone call anyway. Hopefully, all is well. Keep him in your prayers, please!

Heard back from Seth this evening, which is tomorrow morning in China. The hotel I was calling was the wrong one, so that's why I wasn't getting to him. Things have turned around for the better. Hotel had security cameras and items that had been stolen were returned, at least this time. Tell me that prayer doesn't work? Jim & I were both putting in requests this morning! Not so much about the theft as for safety protection over Seth. It works. God is good, all the time!!!!!!

He will post more details when he is back from his big adventure! It really HAS been an adventure too.

May 13, 2007 - Sunday

Happy Mother's Day!

I got 3 nice Mother's Day gifts! 1)Jimmy was away for the weekend and he called to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. Later when he got home, he & Jessica brought me cards and flowers too! 2)Jim took me to a nice Mexican restaurant for lunch, knowing how I LOVE Mexican food! And last night, around 11 pm (which is 11am today in China), 3)Seth called from China! What a great day!!!!

Seth has really had an Adventure already over there, but I won't post it yet, since I don't want to steal his thunder!!! He will post and send email's all about his adventure when he returns this week! What an EXPERIENCE!!!!!

We had thunderstorms roll through last night with alot of lightning. About 1" of rain fell also, so that was a good thing, since we've been so dry. Lightning hit a couple trees close by in our woods, but I couldn't see them from the lane this morning, so must not have done alot of damage. It was hot (80's) and very humid yesterday, but today we have a North breeze and the temp is hovering in the low 70's with very LOW humidity. My KIND of weather!!!!

May 12, 2007 - Sabbath

Got email from Seth that he had arrived in China ok. He's got some issues but we're waiting and hoping all will turn out ok. Keep him in your prayers, since he is visiting a foreign country for the first time.

Jimmy was supposed to graduate today, but he decided not to "walk". We were disappointed, but we are very proud of his accomplishments! He graduates with his Associates degree with High Honors!!!! Something to be very proud of!!!

May 11, 2007 - Friday

Happy Birthday Eunice!

Tracking Seth's trip, will have more details at a later date. Busy week for everyone. I'm really tired so will call it a night.

May 10, 2007 - Thursday

Busy day, ran some errands in town. Tried to accomplish a couple things in the morning before I left. It was so humid last night, I woke up earlier than I have been, 8 am, and couldn't go back to sleep. Not that I should anyway. It's just lately I've been dragging alot and sleeping until 9 or 9:30 am. Don't know why. But I suspect it's all related to the humidity. This time of year is tough for me. I feel like I'm suffocating all the time. Once it gets hot enough to turn on AC, I'll feel better, breathe better and sleep better! But until then....

May 9, 2007 - Wednesday

Jimmy received a couple of awards tonight! So wonderful! He is finished classes and we are so very proud!!! Another sucessful year of school! Great job!!!!!

Busy day doing housework and all that jazz. Seth is busy getting ready for his trip. He called tonight and said Joey fell and broke his arm. He was playing in the loft area of their RV while they were out there working on it and fell. So poor little thing is in some pain tonight. Keep him in your prayers. Also Seth and JoAnna as they comfort him and Seth leaves for his trip.

May 8, 2007 - Tuesday

Ran to town to do a couple errands today.

May 7, 2007 - Monday

Working on laundry and ironing and routine stuff around the house. Walked around outside to see if I have any sign of flowers coming up yet. We really haven't had a good rain, only about 2/10th's of an inch, and it's been cooler out the last few days.

And the answer was no. No sign of any flowers from the 224 bulbs that I planted. I do know that the mouse probable has eaten a few of them too so those will not come up either. Obviously. However, she says hopefully. How many bulbs could a little mouse eat? Course if there are dozens of mice, well, that's a whole 'nother story! But if I can see a few flowers come up that will be better than none at all. So we shall see. It's going to warm up later this week and storm and rain, all the correct components. I'll check again next week.

May 6, 2007 - Sunday

I was sick middle of the night, Friday night or should I say Sabbath early AM. But by the time I got up and going, I thought I could make it through the day. I ended up sleeping all afternoon on the sofa and feel almost 100% better now. I know of others who have had it and it was a 24 hour bug, so hopefully it's over.

So I took it easy today, just relaxed and enjoyed the evening, watched some TV, read etc. Figured I'll be perfect by tomorrow and can get back to my "routines". The housework will wait, it does all the time, it's always there, so why worry about it? Obviously, I don't!

May 4, 2007 - Friday

Watched "Shrek 2" this afternoon. It, too, was really cute! Antonio Banderas was a great addition as the cat in this one! Adorable. Now I'm looking forward to the new "Shrek 3" which is coming out soon.

And just so you won't think that I have forgotten....... There's only 234 shopping days until next Christmas!!!!!!

May 3, 2007 - Thursday

Cloudy but humid today, did some errands in town, ate lunch with a couple ladies from church, so it was a nice day. I'm still coughing some from that awful cold I had, but otherwise I'm feeling better.

Jessica, upon learning that we've never watched "Shrek", rented it for us to see. What a cute movie! We really enjoyed it. Eddie Murphy's voice is the donkey and honestly makes the movie. Cameron Diaz is Princess Fiona and John Lithgow is the wanna-be king. It's animated and very well done. A really enjoyable evening!

May 2, 2007 - Wednesday

Today would have been my mother's birthday. She died in 1965 when she was 40 years old. Today she would've turned 82 years old. I do have a webpage partially done about her life. I eventually plan to add more, just haven't done it yet.

Normal day, just busy with the usual housework. Man, to read my journal you would think that I'm a houseworking fiend. Honestly, I'm not. I'm not even treading water.... But sometimes that's all I want to write in this oh so public journal. It's enough for the world to know that I do make an effort to organize and clean up, even when I'm not sucessful.

May 1, 2007 - Tuesday

Didn't get alot of sleep last night but took a nap during the evening while watching TV. Or should I say, everyone else watched TV, I fell asleep?

It's the beginning of May and a pretty day it was. Sunny and not too hot. There was a small breeze too which kept things very pleasant. Can't complain anyway.
