Safety & Target Shooting

I finally found something I was good at. Jim had been target shooting since he was old enough to hold a gun. We started target shooting together not long after we got married. We went to observe an IHMSA (International Handgun Metallic Silhouette Association) match at Fort Meade, Md. one Sunday afternoon since we lived just a few miles away at the time.
Seeing them shoot the little metal targets just brought out the competitor in me and I just had to try it. We went to the very next match, ready to participate. What fun we had! And we met some of the nicest people. And guess what? I won a trophy, the very first time!!! From then on we were hooked. For about three years we didn't miss a match. We attended matches in Maryland and Pennsylvania, winning trophies at most of them!
We shot in small bore competition with .22 caliber. We shot in large bore competition with 357 magnum, 44 magnum, 222, and 30 herret, both production (up to 10 inch barrels) and unlimited (14 inch barrels) categories. Positions used were standing and freestyle (includes sitting, prone and creedmore). I usually was at my best in the standing category. What FUN!!!!

Unfortunately, I don't have photos of us with every trophy we won. However, I have photos of alot of the trophies on our walls and shelves, so will get more recent photos at a later date.
